Florentine Opera, in Milwaukee, will mount the new opera based on the Sinclair Lewis novel and the major motion picture, with a score by Robert Aldridge and libretto by Herschel Garfein. Elmer Gantry premiered at Nashville Opera in the fall of 2007 with William Boggs conducting, Keith Phares in the title role and Vale Rideout as Frank Shallard. John Hoomes was the director of the premiere and will stage this new production at Florentine Opera.
